Wrapping up Christmas

So this week we are finally wrapping up Christmas.  Last week we turned on the lights and listened to Manheim Steamroller's "Silent Night" one last time.  Yesterday we took off the ornaments and today Bruce is taking off the lights and getting the tree down.  This week the outside decorations will finally come down.  Our fifteen inches of snow is finally melting so he can get to them!
I wonder what Christmas will be like next year.  Changes are in the wind and it might be a very, very different Christmas.  I do know this-there are traditions we will continue, maybe start something new.  It will still be about Jesus and what He did for us and continues to do.  We will still turn on the tree lights and listen to Silent Night as we snuggle together and reflect on the past year, still very thankful to be together.  Maybe next year we will even be with family again.  That is something we have missed most of all.
Yes, we are now in the Lenten season and we are looking towards Holy Week and Resurrection Sunday.  But it's nice to have one last evening of Christmas before it all gets packed up again.  And remember that we have Easter because of Christmas, and we have Christmas because we needed a Savior and Redeemer.  Thank You, Father, for the gift of Your Son.  May our hearts continue to overflow with thankfulness and praise, no matter what season we are in.  Amen.
